Since joining SBcare’s Meals on Wheels kitchen team in 2022, Rachel has become a valued and versatile member of our Food Services team. Her commitment, practical skills and willingness to support wherever needed have made her an important contributor to the day-to-day success of the kitchen.
Rachel’s dedication was formally recognised this year when she achieved her Certificate III in Commercial Cookery through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. The qualification acknowledges the extensive skills and knowledge she has developed through hands-on experience in the workplace. Through the RPL pathway, Rachel was able to demonstrate her competency and receive credit for subjects based on the high standard of work she consistently delivers.
Over the past three years, Rachel has gained experience across almost every area of the commercial kitchen. Her broad knowledge of food preparation, service delivery and kitchen operations has made her a valuable resource for both colleagues and clients.
More recently, Rachel has stepped into a leadership role, supporting the Food Services Coordinator with a range of administrative and operational responsibilities. This expanded role reflects the confidence the team has in her abilities and highlights her continued professional growth.
Rachel’s achievement demonstrates the value of recognising workplace learning and creating opportunities for staff to develop their skills and careers. SBcare is proud to support staff in their professional development and celebrate their success.
